“Motstånderen” – “The Opponent” Director : Milad Alami

Selected for Berlinale 2023, Karlovy Vary 2023, Winner Best Movie – PIFF,  Special Jury Prize – SIFF, Best Actor – Inside Out

VW ID-Buzz “Ewan McGregor”

8 hours was all we had with this legend of a man, that is Ewan McGregor, but it was more than enough for him to deliver AND charm the pants off everyone on set..
After he left, we did have just a little more time and a little less rush to pick up the missing pieces, all held together by smiles and good spirits and especially the never ending energy of Gaffer Albrecht Silberberger,
elegantly moving the sun around all day, into pre-rehearsed positions. Alexa LF and Hawk Vintage 74’s

Director: Mario Feil
Producer: Rayk Hawlitscheck / AKKURAT Berlin

“Bullshit” – “The Family” Amazon Prime miniseries

True story about the first biker gangs in 80ies Copenhagen.
A lot of work went into nailing the look of the 70ies and 80ies. Shooting tests on film, we ended up designing a LUT, based on old 3-strip behaviour, making it rigid and deliberately challenging to work with. To achieve a look, but also to make ourselves commit
on set, as opposed to postponing this to a random grading session.
Grainy and with limited latitude, you could feel the sensor struggling, and introducing some gorgeous noise and contamination, which felt completely appropriate.
Shooting the alexa mini in s16 mode, and old superspeeds wide open, it all contributed
to something that felt loyal to the period, but more importantly, -organic and present.
Deliberately going against current and ever increasing available latitude, resolution and curve range,
it was a welcome challenge to put on ourselves, in a time where so many stops of exposure is
available, and shadow detail is bordering the unreal.

“Music” Director : Sia – Golden Globe nominated 2021 (and Razzie Winner ;-)

Director: Sia
Producer Vincent Landay
Cast: Kate Hudson, Maddie Ziegler, Leslie Odom Jr, Juliette Lewis, Hector Elizondo

This incredible project brought me together once more with creative fountain Sia Furler as well as choreographer Ryan Huffington. Part drama, part musical the creative license was very wide and super playful.
Big shout out of gratitude and love to the faithful LA crew; steadicam operator extraordinaire Ari Robbens, 1AC Dominic Aluisi, Key Grip Derrick Armand, Gaffer Tony Varula & DIT wizzard Mark Wilenkin !

Shot during one hot summer in LA, on Alexa Mini, Kowa anamorphics & K35 sphericals.

Set for release 2021

BMW Juliette Lewis – Director Daniel Askill

Due to budget and actress availability, this project had to be shot over just one shooting day, and it just so happened to also be one of the shortest ones in the year, just before xmas. The good news was that it would be a day of consistent, beautiful low angel sun, but the bad news was that we had less than 8 hrs of actual shooting time.
Juliette and Daniel worked together coming up with the text she delivered and with a insane strike of luck (and an amazing crew, ready to fire any of the 4 cameras at all times) we had every shot, when the sun set over the mountains.

Director: Daniel Askill
Producer: Jason Baum / Radical Media
Shot in Lancaster, CA.
Arri Alexa’s & Panavision C-series anamorphic

U2 Joshua Tree Tour – Director Anton Corbijn

The visual backbone of U2’s anniversary Joshua Tree Tour 2018/19 was supposed to be a narrative of films, one for each song, with a strong political comment to the discussions of the american border wall. For a week, we travelled northern california, to capture vistas and elements of the iconic locations that had been immortalised by the band and Anton Corbijn for the Joshua Tree album; Zabriskie Point, Joshua Tree, etc.
The stage design on the Tour was simple but massive; The band, set against a 200ft wide background LED screen with more than 7K resolution and a custom widescreen ratio of 1:4,5. That was our canvas, an intimidating degree of clarity and exposure to every detail in the frame.

Director: Anton Corbijn
Producer: Saul Germaine / Serial Pictures

C & A – Director : Duncan Winekoff

“Crooked House” (Glenn Close, Christina Hendricks, Terence Stamp)

Director: Gilles Paquat-Brenner
Shot on location in and around London
Alexa Mini, Hawk Anamorphics and custom LUT

Director: Miranda July
Producer: Youree Henley & Dede Gardner
Production Company: Annapurna/Plan B
Cast: Evan Rachel Wood, Richard Jenkins, Gina Rodriguez & Debra Winger.

I met Miranda on a short film some years ago, and ever since then I secretly hoped that she would write another screenplay, and that somehow I could offer myself for that. So this came about and was pretty much a dream project. A unique, heisty, funny, touching drama, shot in and around LA, on Alexa Mini, Panavision C-series anamorphics.
Set for a 2020/SEPT release, and had its world premiere at Sundance 2020 as well as Cannes 2020

Mercedes “Keep On Discovering” – Director: Maceo Frost

Easily one of the best journeys last year, personally as well as professionally,
-a week in Lisbon with some of the kindest and most inspiring favourite people.
And such an abundance of creative ideas and generous characters that didn’t make this cut!
Director: Maceo Frost
Producer: Rayk Hawlitscheck
EP : Jakob Preischl, BWGTBLD Berlin
Shot on Alexa LF & K35

Lady Gaga “Stupid Love” – Director Daniel Askill

Returning to the desert with Daniel, almost 2 years after the BMW/Juliette Lewis spot, this project was completely different. Almost entirely dance performance, numerous costume changes and all to be shot on iPhones, trying to embrace ever changing daylight proved quite the challenge. The real heroes were Manolo, the all-terrain steadicam operator, carrying 3 x iPhones and killing every take, Eric Jensch, prepping a million iPhones and making sure they were all set up with filters and cages, ready to go!

Director: Daniel Askill
Producer: Joshua Goldstein
Shot in Trona Pinnacles, CA.
All on iPhone 11pro

Barclaycard “Grace Jones” Director: Andreas Nilsson

Director: Andreas Nilsson
Producer: Samantha Somers / Biscuit Films
Shot at Pinewood in London, over 2 wonderfully silly days

“When The Dust Settles” – Director: Milad Alami

WHEN THE DUST SETTLES. -10 episode standalone miniseries
Director: Milad Alami
Producer: Stinna Lassen / Denmarks Radio

A lot of commitment, trust and love went into this, especially from powerhouse director (and master of zen) @miladalami ,
but really everyone engaged and applied themselves in a way that made me grateful every day.

During testing, we shot some 35mm with the lead actress (on the real locations). This was subsequently bleach bypassed, transferred, and from those dailies a shooting LUT was created. (The top 2 screenshots are from the 35mm material).
The narrow range of this LUT pushed us everyday into a very high degree of commitment, because blacks were deep and unforgiving, highlights and grain reacting super quick, but the result was inspiring and gorgeous and a major change from shooting with the usual safe mode of the wide Alexa latitude.
Alexa mini with kowa anamorphics and a custom made swing diopter.

7up “Light It Up” – Director Samir Mallal

This incredible project required several days of rigging, a 20+ prelight crew, and was all over in a couple hours, when Tiesto finally entered the stage.

Director: Samir Mallal
Produced by Tim Kerrison / Smugggler LA
Shot over 3 nights in Chile, Alexa’s & Zeiss Superspeeds

Die Antwoord “Banana Brain” Director Terence Neale

This project was a passion project in every way. Ninja and Yolanda are generous human beings and 100% crazy energy. Totally open to any idea, Ninja needed no convincing to perform with LED lights in his mouth or paint their bedroom with UV paint for the shoot. I am still grateful to Terence for bringing me on this adventure.

Director: Terence Neale
Shot on location in Cape Town & surrounding townships

Bulmers – Director Aoife McArdle

This was a special challenge as well as an extremely inspiring collaboration with master of light Aoife McArdle. From the beginning the ambitions were high and every shot was planned to be executed in the exact window of time that had the perfect light conditions. Keeping the crew small and loading only the bare bones of equipment in ATV’s, we were able to zip between locations (more than once also on foot).

AXE – Director Megaforce

Directors : Megaforce / Iconoclast

Sia “Chandelier”

Director: Daniel Askill / Radical Media

Sony Bravia Director Ben Tricklebank

Even though this looks pretty straight forward, it was a wonderfully crazy challenge, since the delivery was 6K HDR and early on it was decided to shoot all the sky plates and comp them in, as opposed to creating CG background mattes from concept artwork. We had to go deep into the Atamcama desert at night, one of the darkest places on earth, far from any light contamination of the bigger cities, and still shoot long exposures. But in return, the starry night skies were gorgeous. Even to the naked eye, everything was visible, the depth of space was just incredible and something you never see, living in a normal large city.
